Pet animals and death

I was talking with a coworker today about putting animals down. You see my beloved pet cat of 14 years is not doing well. She hasn't shit on her own in nearly two weeks. Our vet tells us we've done everything we can do medically. So depending upon what happens over the next 48 to 72 hrs, we could have to put her down. Sucks. I love this animal. It makes me sad to think about. So my coworker tells me about the time that he had to put a horse down with a rifle at the age of 12. The animal had broken it's back. Damn. Twelve years old. That has to stay with you.

I've done this with two pets in my life so far. Really hope she pulls out of this and has some more pain free days with us.
